Drifting - 20x20 Oil Painting

There was something about this painting that my camera was at odds with. It's taken a lot of tweaking and this is close, but there's a bit of subtlety and luminance lost versus the actual painting. Sometimes the photographing is harder than the painting!

I've very drawn to these pristine, expansive beaches with giant clouds looming overhead. My favorite part of going to the beach has always been to watch the clouds, while hearing the ocean crash around me. Painting these scenes always brings that back.
